Oh my, the list is TOO long!!!!!
Good idea for a thread.

Well, I must say Andrew Wyeth tops the list, tho.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.

Why Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa; If you look close enough, she has no eyebrows or lashes. (Some art critics suggest his portrait did at some point show these features, but had eroded or faded over time). So, who knows!

Anyone familiar with the work of Albert Bierstadt?

His landscape paintings are some of the best I've seen. Can look even better than the real thing..

I do like those older more 'real' art work. Realistic, but with a hint that it's somewhere else..
Have to say art has taken strange turns since the 20th century.

I wasn't familiar with his art but I've just had a look. Dramatic, beautiful and dreamlike.
