Angels with many names.

Why do angels sometimes have so many different names? I have found at least 8 different names for the angel that follows me. Why couldn't they have stuck with one?

I guess it is no different from human beings some of which have so many names thaty will confuse you.

Yes many different names and also different pronounciations for some.

Like ariel- I forget which religious sect pronounces it this way Maybe Christianity? I could be wrong.

I much prefer the hebrew pronounciation which is Uriel.

Then there is Gabriel and how many refer them as female, when in fact the feminine version of the name is spelt Gabrielle.

And there are even demons named differently in the case of astara who is both feminine and masculine- also the masculine form is Astaroth.

And so on and so forth.

Yes could get confusing.

I was under the impression that Ariel and Uriel were different. O.o

I think you are right Kittycatcacher,

Their meanings are alike however and many use the names interchangeably.

So one can be refering to Ariel but actually be talking about Uriel.
