A poem for my twin-flame in spirit

[Kendaru]

I've enjoyed 15 challenging, yet rewarding years with my twin flame through a purely spiritual connection, likely having never met her physically. I wrote this poem for her about a month ago. Enjoy

If I could see your eyes, but not perceive your space,
If I could touch your skin, but not heed your presence,
If I could hear your voice, but not fathom your intent,
I would never feel the warmth of your nearness to my heart.

In the end, what I have makes up for what I lack.
You are not your eyes, your skin, or your voice.
You are your space, your presence, your intent, your heart.
In the end, we have each other, and that’s all that matters.

Interesting! The Shape of Water turns out to be my fiance's favorite recent movie (and I was certainly able to identify with it myself, being involved with something I believe to be non-human for so long). It could explain in part the attraction we feel to each other!

I'm not sure whether I identify as the past-life writer of that particular poem. The name 'Rumi' stirs something for sure (but not the other names in that article), but it could be as a fan or disciple. My poem was written 1-2 months after seeing Shape of Water, so the simplest explanation would be that I was inspired by recent input. It's also worth noting that the poem you mention was written about God, and mine's about a non-physical interaction with a spirit.

I've done very little past-life regression to date, none that's yet taken me to the Middle-East, but I'll keep it in mind should it come up later. However, we're all One in the end, so perhaps there is more truth to your assertion than I yet realize...

i wouldn't characterize my thought as an assertion, nor even a supposition;
maybe a speculation, but really just whimsy.
i agree that "all is one" is an underlying truth.
