What hope is there for the world when two spiritual people can't get along?

I personally don't like david's tone, but I don't let it affect me. As they often teach in Vedanta, personal things are basically st00pid.

EDIT: Sorry I just realized I assumed that you are letting it affect you catsquotl. That's definitely not necessarily true!

You may as well lnow that what david does. Does affect me.
If I was the person he claims I am I wouldn't, but I am not. As I said before I am a long cry from enlightenment. His behaviour was Rude, full of false assumtions and hurtfull. Yes I am returning the favor. Call it what you will. I've encountered my share of aged know it all's. Makes me sick and resentfull.

And I as well Eelco. Even having said what I did doesn't me I can't be caught up in a turbulent whirlpool for the same reason. For the very reason you wrote .

People hang up on words, many phrases could replace "Walk a circle" and would be just as correct for instance 'whirlpool' or 'boiling water', the list goes on. 'Walking a circle' was perfect in the context of what was being discussed at the time.

In the Akkosa Sutta, a man named Akkosa found out that one of his clansmen had just become a disciple of the Buddha. Outraged, Akkosa went to the Buddha to give the Buddha a piece of his mind – he hurled abuse and insults at the Buddha, telling the Buddha what he thought of him in no uncertain terms.

The Buddha was unmoved in the slightest by this barrage of insults and just asked a question in return:

“Do you sometimes receive visitors as guests?”

“Yes I do” replied Akkosa.

“And when they come, do you offer them food and drink and courtesies?” asked the Buddha.

“Yes, sometimes I do” Akkosa said.

“So what if your guests don’t accept what you offer to them – where do the food, drink and courtesies return to?”

“They return to me of course!” Akkosa answered.

“Akkosa, you came here today, hurling insults and abuse at me. I do not accept what you have offered. So where do these insults and abuse return?”

Akkosa got the picture.

Akkosa had the decency to come to the Buddha and tell him to his face how he felt.

So there's not 1 but 2 differences.
I am no Buddha.. david isn't a decent man.
He isn't offering me anything. He is trying to paint a false picture of me.

Now Buddha was wise enough to explain what he meant if someone twisyted his words and coild rephrase them accordingly. I am not there yet so I confront david with the false image he is mistaken to accept as reality.
