Some real huge monster mosquitoes around these days...blow the average ones out of the water!!!
Sadly I have some type of allergy and their bites become huge within minutes -_-
These little vamps are an exception to my no killing rule...so hard to get too when theres 10 of them at once

Go to Quebec or NY where they get horse flies. Mosquitoes are nothing in comparison. Horse flies take nice sized chunks out of one's hide. And they love to swarm. |

I hate flyes and mosquitos. No other way to put it; BTW are they useful for anything?

Are the horse flies the big ones that will chase you down? I remember one chasing me and my dog from the lake back to the house. I'd thought we'd both go mad but I don't see them as much as those biting flies. they are black and yet some have gold on them but small like a regular fly but their wings are translucent white or gold with a black stripe or something on it. Now those suckers will swarm in your hair. I can go through a can of bug spray with deet in a week going to my favorite spot. They drive me nuts, even with the spray I have to pull them out of my hair. I've come into the house to find blood dripping off bites on my face when I didn't realize they were biting! Usually I do feel them as it stings a bit. I've not seen them as bad as they have been in the last few years. I used to be able to go to this one place without worry and enjoy myself, but not anymore. It's ridiculous.
I don't like to kill anything but I have taken to killing those biting or black flies, mosquitos and ticks.

They are useful for spreading mosquito genes. The world doesn't revolve around humans you know, much as we may want it to. When we try to make it do so we often cause environmental disasters.

Speaking of mosquitoes, I saw green ones this summer. That's the first time I've seen green ones. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen different coloured mosquitoes.
