Know vs. Belief

What do you think is more powerful, belief, or knowing? I feel like both are extensions of our will. We know what we know is real and thus we will it to be real. Whereas belief doesnt really know for sure. I think knowing is stronger then belief. And yet belief is like faith and faith can do anything. I think faith can be a form of knowing if it is strong enough. You can have so much faith that you know it will be so. What do you think?

I think we believe a lot more than we know; and usually what we think we know turns out to be only a belief. It has been stated that Jesus said, “if you had the faith of a mustard seed you could move mountains, “or something like that. Faith is very powerful and is based on our beliefs, but to have valid beliefs those beliefs should be based on something we know.

Usually people know a little bit about something and then the rest of it is what they believe based on that little bit of knowledge; so I think beliefs and knowledge work hand-in-hand. Faith is based on evidence, so we extrapolate on our beliefs based on what we think we know. Knowing and believing are extensions of each other. Sometimes we base our beliefs on what we know and at other times we base what we know on our beliefs.

Faith, leads to Belief, Belief leads to Knowing.
I see them as stepping stones on a path, each leads a little further down the road. :)

Thinking one as more powerful is a belief. We can very easily be a slave to what we know and believe. A weakness and a strength. But if one is seeking spiritual growth, i'd say both are imaginary barriers. More a weakness than a strength.

So many questions!!!

What do you think is more powerful, belief, or knowing? - Knowing.

I feel like both are extensions of our will. -I do not have any idea what that means...If I know the chair
is just a bunch of atoms appearing as a chair....what does that have to do with my will?
I'm open to your take, tho.

We know what we know is real and thus we will it to be real.
-What do you mean...interesting...at first glance i don't agree..if i know the chair is real...i'm not 'willing' it to be real....or
is my belief in the illusion that
it is a chair keeping it there looking like a chair...Well, that certainly is true.

Whereas belief doesnt really know for sure.-- I agree.

I think knowing is stronger then belief. -Of course, it is, yes.

And yet belief is like faith and faith can do anything. -Nothing is impossible with God.

I think faith can be a form of knowing if it is strong enough. -Hmm...sorta, yes.
You can have so much faith that you know it will be so. -Yes.

Hello

What do you think is more powerful, belief, or knowing?

I see them as the same, the power is in us and in the universe, we believe in something knowing that there is power behind the very thought process.

I believe that I am connected to spiritual things and I know that I can communicate with spiritual beings that are not in the "flesh and blood" state of being.

Where belief becomes blind I feel is when one follows along a path of faith blind to what one really wants to hear and see. Where one does not get the answers to things one might ask. Example I grew up Anglican and I til the age of 13 so asked "why I could talk to the dead" to get "child never talk about such things". I know now that in part that was self preservation and protection from being locked away. Too I know well that without answers I could not follow that faith path in life for ever.

I believe in a higher power, but I know well that is not in the Anglican faith I can find that place of knowing. I too do not down my upbringing like I once did, as in part it showed me t he path that was right for me to understand on a deep level what spiritual is and how I can work along that path.

Now when someone says God Bless You, or Your a Blessing from God, I do not run from that statement. I simply turn it into Divine Light.

My view holds that both are powerful. In My View it is for me trivial to ask which is or is not more powerful.

Each is as only as powerful, in equation with how much power I put into either.

Belief, Knowing, Wisdom- The power in my view- is in how they are used, utilized.

It is in how we use what we know- what we use the knowledge for.

It is in how we use what we believe, what is it we are using our beliefs for?

It is in how we use our wisdom. The power and wisdom lies, in my view, in what when the wisdom is finally attained, we end up doing with it.

All in my view, are as powerful as the amount of power I put into them.
