Don't listen to religion... They pretty much condemn anything when it's not up their alley.

I know Dragonforce btw, I occasionally listen to them but there are so many more bands that are doing it better than them when it comes to epic fantasy (in my opinion of course).

Maybe you like those as well:

I think if the music makes you feel emotions that aren't harmful to you then I can't see a problem.
I love Pearl Jam (Rock), yes, some of Eddie Vedder's words are angry, in his younger days anyway. IMO not harmful though. His poetry, which I think it is, has helped many in a positive way, including myself.

i think although heavy metal is loud its technically quite hard to play if you look at it from a music theory point of view yeah so you can give credit at there for the level of creativity and skill. it's the same thing for video gaming it's like like creativity and there's skill in it to finish the games.
how do you feel at here? i guess it just depends on your beliefs to how you would respond here.

I find nothing wrong with music. Music itself is a complete creative expression and will draw people to it that it appeals to. There are some lyrics in some music that has the ability to set off people literally. I watched a crime show where the husband took what a singer was saying about his wife and applied those sentiments to his own wife. Lets just say she ended up no longer living. Given that example, a person could be easily persuaded and influenced by negative music lyrics depending on the healthiness of his/her state of mind. I suspect that could be true of some violent video games as well. But overall, I find music in general to speak to the depths of a person's being.

People have associated Jazz, Blues, Funk, and Rock as being "Devil's Music" . I watch documentaries about the history of these geners . It's interesting what one perceives as Good or Bad music .

Music is a strange bird to define. I enjoy quality music, and although I have my genre biases, I find pieces/songs that I think are 'quality' in pretty much all of them. That said, my taste seems to be as picky as it is eclectic and I could not explain it if I tried. It is mysterious why any individual likes a piece of music, and yet there are some songs that it seems almost everybody likes, which some seem to take pride in disliking. A lot of the heavy metal seems like low quality racket to me, although I do like some heavy metal as well. I suppose like Abramović with her art that makes the viewer a performer, some of the heavy metal is just shock rock designed to get people condemning it as an evil influence, so it is sort of meta-performance art, and I suppose it makes it that much more popular among the young rebellious age bracket.
What I do wonder about is the influence that too much media of any sort can have on the subconscious human mind. Some will tell you that you are what you eat and that applies to the media you consume as well. That though the conscious mind may dismiss something, the subconscious mind does not discriminate and simply absorbs. I have known those who went from raging liberal to raging right wing nut job simply because the source of 'news' they listened to was switched. Certainly propaganda and advertising has a way of sneaking past the thinking mind and affecting us at a deeper level without us knowing it. So what affect might repeated exposure to other forms of media have....on you people of course.....not on me.

Hi, I will listen to anything from classical to heavy rock depending on my mood. Even certain heavy metal "speaks" to me if I am in that mode . We all need to take ourselves out of ourselves sometimes, and for me , music does that.
