ayurveda for animals

Has anyone used ayurveda with animals before or know of any where that offers classes in this. I work with horses and would love to know how to integrate ayurveda into their care. But work with any animal interests me.

Namaste,
bri

I have been watching this question for ages, and there are no responses, and I'm sorry. I wish I knew, but unfortunately I don't know about ayurveda.
I think any form of natural healing for any animals -which works- is a wonderful thing.
I have heard Homeopathy pooh-pooh'ed and yet I have seen remarkable results with it in animals. And no-one could blame the placebo effect where an animal is concerned.

I hope someone responds. Otherwise, maybe you could Google it?
All the best.

Well, as far as I believe, the only places you can find are the rural areas in India and ask people there about those who prepare the medicines for animals.

There was an old man named Krishna Maniani near my grandparents' house. Maybe it has been over 10 years ago I saw him medicating the cow there. Though he was alcoholic, people there say "his hand is miraculous". I don't know where he brought the medicines from, but it was working. And he's the only person I heard of doing it. Maybe there are still a few left.

It's very hard to find people with knowledge about herbal medicines, worse thing is it's becoming harder to find the herbs we want. They are usually illiterates and don't have a chance to write anything down for the future generations. It's learnt by those practice. Everyone of our previous generations expect their children to be Engineers or get some so called "qualified jobs". They even recommend their children get settled in cities!

Western medical field may give reasons for the problem and provide a faster result. But they are blind about the door for some more serious disease getting opened. Sometimes I feel afraid about the future of such an incredible knowledge and herbs.
