No there's no wrong or right in religion, the fact is we all have to go beyond religion, no matter what the belief is, because while its just a belief, we will always only be in the mind with our beliefs.

Going 'beyond religion' is basically changing to different beliefs. It's still religion. And I have no idea why that idea bothers people so much, other than they just desperately need their Ultimate Truth for some reason.

I say let it go and don't be afraid to call beliefs beliefs; don't be afraid to realize it's just another belief system in a long line, and will be updated to something different later. I just don't have an attachment to it, I see beliefs as something to serve me, I don't serve them.

As Gandhi famously said the world's faiths are like the branches of a tree and all connected to the trunk (God)...

I would say faiths are united in how they serve similar purposes. The actual beliefs are not the same though. For example, someone might say 'all paths lead to God', but Buddhists don't believe in god(s). They may have different goals as well, not all necesarrily are trying to reach a God or some form of nirvana in the first place. It's misinformed to say all religions lead to the same thing, unless you choose to believe it anyway regardless of fundamental differences.

No I don't call it a belief, its an experience that cannot be turned into a concept or belief, you cannot organize it as religion does, but you can only truly realize this through your own inner experience, before that, its just a belief.

That maybe so in some cases, but there is a lot of belief systems out there that only poisons that tree.

Well I have to agree with that.

I like this image a lot!
OK so buddhists don't believe in god, but they believe in goodness and cultivating the god within....
are we going to split twigs on this?

If it makes 'you' a better person, it it advances the soul, if it serves the greater good. That is the value of a faith.

Life is a continuum. When 'you' die all the people you loved and who have loved you (who have passed over) will be there to greet you. Irrespective of what religion they did or did not follow. Even your dog will be there! - and no dog ever read the Bible, or the Dhammapada, or anything else.

All people are subject to Cause and Effect, Karma, 'As you sow so shall you reap', call it what you will. An inescapable universal law and 'you' are bound to it, irrespective of what religion you did or did not follow.

The path IS the same for all, though some may not perceive that. Our destiny is shaped by our conduct, not our religion.
If your religion inspired you into a higher way of living then it served you well, but other than that...

Seawolf,

You have a strange thread history. I can not follow you. On every side you pretty much oppose the OP in which ever thread. I think if I wrote a status on how Blue Bears are the best you would respond with- "why not red bears or green bears?".

And besides I am posting on Interfaith.- which means I am including all religions.

What is the essence of Lao-Tzu, Jesus, Buddha, Confucious, Moses, etc' teachings?

Sometimes I see a Confucious saying and I have to revert back to the fact that it is not a saying from Buddha nor Jesus, its Confucious!

There is nothing ignorant about Christ-Consciousness.

What's ignorant is the constant separation and sectarianism of religious dogma.
