That strikes me as being a tad polyanna-ish. I think, Jesus (for one) would disagree, as implicit in: “Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand … for this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” (Matthew 13:13-17) IMO, selfishness is 'hard-wired', till 'overcome' or 'transcended' at least.

i sense no faults with a Pollyanna-ish outlook. i don't consider it ill-informed
about the harsh nature of reality, but an enlightened view of what underlies
the superficial appearances... Source is loving and beautiful.
my logic leads me into thinking that if Source were a being, it would of
necessity have "selfish" motivations (since it is unique and cannot logically
be motivated to perform actions for some non-existent 'other'). it could be
that this situation was 'transcended' by becoming a non-being -- providing
the energy source that has allowed all other beings to manifest.
