We use hot ovaltine (don't know if you have it where you are) and a banana.
Unless you have been exercising or yard work (something to have caused it) it could be a magnesium deficiency. Bananas are great for that. When my son was growing up and had growing up and had growing pains the pediatrician recommended tylenol and warm milk.

If you can get someone to massage them, and they sorta know what they're doing or have a nack, that would help a lot, too. Drink enough water.

I use Arnica Montana, you can get it at any health food store. I recommend the Boiron brand or the Boericke & Tafel brand. It's just a gel you apply topically and it works almost instantly. I used it to manage pain after a serious injury, so I'm sure it could knock out any minor muscle ache as well.

It's from exercise,,, Dancing to be precise LOL!
I've done a bit of self massge, hot baths and drinking water (which uncannily I dreamt to do) and it seems to be easing,,,

Put a teaspoon of baking soda in water and drink it... don't do more than a teaspoon. you can take 2 teaspoons on one day max - one in the morning and one in the evening. Sodium bicarbonate can damage the lining of your stomach if you take too much.
drink strong chamomille tea... and take more magnesium
all these things reduce lactic acid and sore muscles, it lowers the PH of your body
