PLAYDAY

Its not about hard work.

There are a myriad ways to get things done (and to get things done that dont involve hard work)

Do you recall being a kid,and you went out on some days and you played and played and played,and your mom kept shouting you 'its time to come in' and you kept saying OK,but you just kept on playing,until finally after the upteenth time,you finally and reluctantly went in.

That was a lot of energy you expended,do you remember.Well,how HARD was it.

Now,i can imagine you thinking.Yeah,but that was PLAY,nowadays,it takes work to get things done.

Oh really.

Well then,let me ask you something..what makes something PLAY,and what makes something WORK.

The same activity can be WORK or it can be PLAY,it just depends how your thinking about it,and how you think about it will determine how you FEEL about it,and how you feel about it determines whether you consider it WORK or PLAY.

What i do in my current day job,i am in accounting,now that sounds pretty dry doesnt it,crunching numbers..CRUNCH,CRUNCH,CRUNCH,GRIND,GRIND...

But what it actually is,is very different.Its actually puzzle solving and investigating and being like a DETECTIVE,And at times its like exploring,finding new paths,new resolutions,so i get to be something of an EXPLORER.And sometimes its plain old curiosity and creative thinking,wondering 'how can i do this' how can i do it better,so i get to be inventive,an INVENTOR.

And then at other times,its a back-drop to meditation,sometimes the task is very mundane,So i focus on my breathing,breathing deeper,more relaxed,more consciously,i get to rejuvenate myself while getting PAID,Isnt that nice.

And sometimes its learning and sometimes its teaching and sometimes its the practise of diplomacy,so i get to be a DIPLOMAT,and sometimes its inter-personal conflict resolution,so i get to play MEDIATOR.

And sometimes its joking and being stupid or silly with co-workers,So its clowning around (and at the same time getting PAID)

And sometimes its physical,moving boxes,walking up and down stairs,so,it even helps me physically.

And of course,its also a backdrop to my spiritual and emotional growth and evolution,Noticing how i am being while i am doing or noticing how i am feeling while i am inter-acting or while i am considering this or that.

Lots of room for PLAY while being a accountant,so,if an accountant can PLAY,you can imagine YOU can PLAY just about anywhere,anytime with anything.
