My favorite food is the hamburger. I try and have one at least once a week. One day when I was around ten I asked my father at the dinner table why they called it a hamburger. Without missing a beat he told me it was because the meat came from the ham of a pig. A few years later I learned this delicious delicasy originated in Hamburg, Germany and has nothing to do with the the legs of swine. Thus began my interest in etymology.

This happened to me.... and it wasn't an accident so i was aware and calm.... except for the underwear...

My mother's pretentiousness/people pleasing did nothing to endear me to her values. In fact it may well have been instrumental in turning me the other way i.e. spiritual (NOT materialistic).

For anyone who agrees with her, you have probably yet to experience the nastiness that can come with the greed of money. There are countless casualties/break-up of family units that come with how a will is divided. Despite all her good intentions for us, it happened to our family due to the greed of one member.
