You probably know this but sweet potato is an ipomoea, I have never seen any of the tubers over here sprouting but they do look similar to some plants coming up I planted in spring.

The morning glories I've been growing tend to die out when it gets cold. Sometimes some sprout without me planting any seeds. These probably come from seeds produced from the previous year. I see bindweed in some places in my area. The Ipomea Purpurea seeds came from some morning glories growing on a baseball field backstop at a nearby elementary school.
