Spirit Guides to Gods?

Many months ago a new spirit guide showed up in my meditation. After several weeks of getting familiar with her, I stumbled upon and connected with the Morrigan (the spirit guide did not tell me to do so). I didn't have any deities until then, and I don't pigeon-hole myself into any specific religion. I'm more of a spiritualist with other influences. I just take things as they come. Since connecting with the Morrigan, that spirit guide disappeared.
I don't know what to make of it. Is it possible that spirit guide was originally some projection of the Morrigan, and her way of leading me to her? There were some similarities between them - I had very little knowledge of the Morrigan's story (so-to-speak) before it all happened.
I'm posting this here rather than in spirit guides since she is a Pagan goddess. So I've been wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Hello Celticchariot,

Love that name by the way Some guides don't stay around long, they come to us for a reason and maybe her reason was to prepare you for meeting with the Morrigan.

The Morrigan is a very strong warrior/battle goddess. She will provide backbone to say the least and help you fight for what you believe and what you want. Do be wary of violence, though.

From my understanding of paganism which is limited , god as having spirit guides is not so,the arc angels are the closest to god then the guides, this has always been my understanding of it, guides come and go mine have been with me since birth, but when i was fighting the NHS another guide came forward he was an indian warrior because of the fight,as soon as the case against the NHS was over my usual guide was back. all my guides are Native american, which is usual for me as i have Native blood in me, but every guide gives you something to work on.

Namaste
