Ive been researching this for a while and have come to a very good conclusion to the matter of the Philosophers stone. However I would like to know what people think/believe of the matter and what it actually is.

The quest for the philosophers stone is cryptical and IMO is best done while starting from basic information. To acquire such a rare thing would be to be enlightened quite heavily, it links in with many of lifes lessons.
Here are a few clues to the quest if you wish to understand it:

It is a stone that is not a stone.
For all but in few it shines.
It is something all living things are close to yet are still searching for.
And as one last quote described in an alchemists circle "God is three as God is one through the above and below."

The answer to the creation of the stone is simple. The funny thing is you may have already obtained it.

I would summise at this stage that the stone is the reason we are here at this time? Enlightenment as to the purpose of our coming here?

The stone is somewhat why we are here and enlightenment is a part of our coming. There is more to the theory and equations which is best saught for as an individual through ones own understanding.

The stone is the Holy Grail which is as you say the quest for meaning in life and its origins go back to ancient Sumer, at least, 5000BCE and without the help of the Goddess you will not find it!
