I know this isn't exactly the question you were asking but the secret here is to uncover
our "own" individual strengths and weaknesses and then the like within others will become
obvious. I've found that the single, hardest, thing to do is to view our own failings
and strengths objectively. We have a long established habit of defining our inner
workings in self serving terms. Brush that away, we can then monitor the variables
within "ourselves" with far better clarity... thus we understand others in kind.
Our egos are such that we naturally gravitate toward seeing in others what we're
currently grappling-with, within ourselves.
