I haven't been able to mediate properly for a long time...

Basically, i just started a business restoring furniture and creating things out of reclaimed wood. As you can imagine, starting a business takes up a lot of time and effort.. Well, when i have been meditating every night i have been falling asleep because i have been so busy...and i can see the effects the lack of meditation has had on me, I've relapsed on many of things and i feel as though i have little interest in Buddhism any more, even though i know how important it is to follow a spiritual path. I feel like a wandering lost child now. I still try to meditate every night but if i'm falling asleep almost straight away then it is actually useless. I know that its just great that i'm still putting effort in and at least i am trying but, i just wish i could get back into the swing of it.

I don't even know what i'm asking for here. Please help?

Sounds like your putting a lot of pressure on yourself!! And I'm wondering if how your feeling isn't just related to not meditating properly... advice is hard to give without a question but..
I think what would be good for you is some me time... and not when your just about to go to bed, take an hour out in the day for a break, go have lunch in the park or try meditating then instead of when your too tired.
Don't stress about Buddhism.. maybe deep down it's not right for you but taught you lessons you needed... there is no set spiritual path, it's what's right for us, so feeling bad for not sticking with rules placed by someone else will only add to the stress and take you further from YOUR path. (I am not meaning this in a bad way against Buddhism.. it's just you said you lost interest in it).
Maybe set up a little space in your workshop for a time out- it sounds like things are pretty manic right now and I think if you slow things down it will actually become easier to achieve the things you need to achieve.
Before you say you can't slow down or take time out trust me you can :) the time you have will be more productive the less stressed you are.
And the more pressure you put on yourself to do things like meditation the less enjoyable and effective they will be. In my opinion :)

Great advice, Dudewheresmycrystal (and even better username ).

To the OP, I'd say don't fret about it, maybe now isn't the time for a dedicated meditation practice if you're so busy with setting up and establishing your business. Things will settle down into a more relaxed routine, sooner or later, and maybe then you can find your meditation groove again. But for the time being, be attentive to yourself and to your own needs, and do what you feel is right for you at this time. Don't force yourself to meditate, read books on Buddhism, or whatever, purely because you think you should be doing those things; be kind to yourself, remember that your needs are legitimate, too

First thing that came to mind...if I may...
the air...and the old furniture with all it's
energy from others it carries.
(Not bad energy...just like unnecessary cloudiness lingering all
over the room.)

Get Selenite in that work area! Clear the environment daily.
As far as toxins...I'm big on Flower Essences from an experienced
practitioner...but do something more
to cleanse what you are breathing in.

Hope this helps you.

(I used to restore furniture.)

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
