eBay bans sale of Witchcraft related products.

My newspaper today.

From Septmeber, any listings offering curses, spells, tarot readings, and blessings will be removed to protect consumers and avoid hard to resolve conflicts between buyers and sellers. Over 1400 people have petitioned against the decision.

Not sure what I think of that. I am, at least, partly in agreement with the ban.
Any thoughts ?

Go on eBay and enter Magic Spells in Search. You will be amazed/horrified.

Hmmm....it is interesting, and I must admit that I have on occasion purchased some herbs that I can not grow myself due to location. However, I have been very selective of whom I purchased it from.
I suppose many individuals are not inclined to be selective or understand intent and purpose. Such as some individuals seeking a cure for a life threating illness. EBay is probally covering all legal bases, afterall in our country it appears everyone is filing a lawsuit.
Perhaps a disclaimer would be beneficial, if indeed that is the case.

I'm looking forward to other's responses....

Oh no,

I was thinking of selling my authentic metaphysical magick Genie possessed ring that I got from the Car boot for a Gazillion Dollars, Don't Know what I'll do now.

I do think that Tarot decks should continue to be sold along with Altar goods,
erbs and candles , incense etc If the readings are proving a pain, they can drop them for me.

Because I think spells should be personal to the person doing the working, I tend not to have any faith in spells that you buy online.

These strike me as lazy. I don't want to bother to learn about it, I don't want to bother to think about the problem to work out how I would structure a spell, I just want to pay someone else to do it for me.

This is not witchcraft, this is lazyness.

It's also dangerous. If something they sent you had power, would you trust someone you have never met to create something good and accurate to what you want? They could just be buying little bottles and putting pretty stuff in them whilst plotting to kill their partner... nice energy there eh?

However, people selling the items you might want to use in a spell of your own creation are fine. We can't always find what we need in the hedgerows and sometimes have to buy stuff.

mwwahahahahhahahaaahhhaaaaaa

*growl* yup that one does work!!!!!

Seriously, sorry, what people will buy is crazy and the problem is it gives a bad impression of what witchcraft is about.

I don't consider myself a witch but I do understand what it is about and THIS is not it!!

I agree if the ban is only on the actual services - offering spells/curses, or offering tarot readings, etc....because those are very highly debatable, subjective things. The "buyer" could claim the spell didn't work, or the tarot reading was wrong...or that the spell/reading caused someone's death, etc, etc....and how is Ebay supposed to judge these types of disputes? They either have to ban the offering of services altogether, or put a firm policy in place that any of those types of purchases are 'buyer beware, and no disputes allowed'.
I don't imagine they would ban the selling of actual products - that would be silly....

As long as they remove all religious artifacts and symbolism and bibles and crosses I am good with it.
