Seems like I should be able to go back to the 80's

This is just a random thought of mine (stemming from watching Back to the Future recently ). I've always totally loved the 1980's. Everything about it. I'd basically fit in perfectly well in 1985. While we were at a garden store today, I glanced up at the garden gnomes on a shelf, and saw that they were holding signs which said "LOL", "OMG", "Yo!!!!!", etc. Oh, man. My comment to that was, "I'd like to live in a decade where the garden gnomes didn't say 'LOL'." Which spurred the thought of, why would I be born with such a fascination and love of a decade which I supposedly cannot ever visit? Now, I have no idea if time travel exists or not (I'd love it if it did), but I just can't help but wonder why I would be so fascinated with a time that is long gone and not visitable?

And this isn't just an 1980's question, just a general one. A friend of mine would fit right into the 1940's. Most things that people have been interested in that seemed impossible at the time have been invented (airplanes, trains, telephones, electricity, internet, etc), so shouldn't time travel eventually be invented in some way, as well? Otherwise, what's the use of the fascination?

I lived in the 1980s as a teenager and it was a fun and optimistic era to live in, but at the time I thought I would have fitted the 1960s. Because I love the music. I used to like to daydream about going back there.

I'm the same, I lived in the 80's but love all things 60's . . . I wonder if it has anything to do with our parents lol

My son is into the 80's stuff but his era was the "noughties"

I wonder if these feelings are from a past life? There must be a reason we have them. Hopefully time travel as far as I know goes to the future, I may be wrong, it would be good to go back too.

Possibly with some people, a love for a certain period of time could be from a past life, but with a more recent time such as the 1960s, I would guess that most likely it's because my mum used to play music from that era.
I think it would be fantastic to go back in time and see live bands from the 60s and 70s, there were so many great bands around at that time. I would just love to go back and see the Dave Clark Five, The Beatles, The Kinks...minus all the annoying screaming that used to flood out the music back then!

Hey, I'll go with you. I'd love to do my teen years all over again since I didn't really get it right the first time.

My belief is that when we die we get to do it all over again anyway. I'm not saying life is a trial run necessarily but it might be. :)

You mean the teenage girls screaming at the concerts? Yeah that would be annoying.

Absolutely! I become more and more of a reincarnation believer everyday. It's like the universe is trying desperately to show us that we do go on.

Well it is possible to go to other time periods actually, for brief bits. 'Landing' in a specific place/date is a little harder and you won't experience it with ego only with Spirit which is a really surprising version of things.

Research astro-travel, remote viewing, etheric travel, bi-location. Basically we have 5 bodies, of them only the physical one is impaired currently on 'time travel'. I put that in quotes because one the other side all time is NOW, linear time only applies in the 3D dimension because we decided it should - it's a belief system not a Universal constant. However thinking of the 1980 time period still works as an address because Spirit gets the intent.
Anyway, research those methods and be willing to practice lots if your seriously interested in experiencing other time periods. One or more may well work for you, several do for me.

Astro-travel still escapes me tho except accidentally occasionally during light sleep, while I think the experience of it is much more 3D feeling in terms of wind and smells and feeling your body being with you and such - it's harder to recover the memories afterwards. Some of the other methods are more hazy and foggy appearing with loss of detail but the recall and ability to direct your movement once you've arrived is much more consistent, as is being able to communicate telepathically when there. There's a high level form of remote viewing tho that in heightened states of awareness is amazing.

Why try to go back in time, that doesn't even exist, you are here NOW, and that is where you have always been.
