God and religion = anthropocentrism

If we go back to our hunter-gatherer times we believed in great animal spirits, river spirits, etc. We believed in nature and animals. When we started to domesticate grains and settle down we began to focus more on our own kind and our domesticated animals. We began to worship cows, bulls, rams, and eventually ourselves. We are tool makers and coupling it with our civilization we began to see the divine as human. He or she was the ultimate tool maker, the ultimate philosopher, the ultimate human being.

Modern religion and their gods are thus human-centered. If one worships God or believes in God or other deities with a human appearance then one is anthropocentric and really worshipping the human being.

My worship is nothing: that god is life and life has to be nothing but can be anything therefore it is everything. Yet still some of the ancient deities I mostly perceive in human form though not entirely...

Yeah.. it would be fascinating to see what religion we'd create on other planets once we've colonized them.

I vote for the cult of the cookie then we would all live of cookies (that should satisfy the vegans I guess ) yet we would be afraid of not angering the cookie monsters so we had to make offerings of cookies to him so he do not come and eat all our supply of cookies.
