What would you be expecting from healing?

Forgiving, accepting the damage done, and looking toward all positivity in the rest of existence.
We don't listen to the millions of violin players who can't play, we listen to the one who can.
Emphasize the elements of you that are not hurt, and allow them to grow so much that the hurt caused is shrunken into nothingness.
Know that no negative experience which you carry defines you, that only your love for all other beings defines you and continue on with life with an altruistic heart. That heart is self healing.
Help others who have suffered the same. Is also a great way to learn to recover yourself, we often aren't able to apply our own wisdom to ourselves until we help another with it.

Hi 4everlove,
Do you know Teal Swan? I really like her videos. She is a kind of spiritual "teacher", even though i don't like this word, who suffered horrific abuses during her childhood.
She talks about that in one of her videos you can find on YouTube: Overcoming an Abusive Childhood -(CBS New York)- TEAL is Interviewed by Bob Salter on WFAN
Sorry I can't post URLs because I havent made 15 posts here but I think you can find the video easily.
I hope it can help you,
Good luck.

I would be expecting to release it, of course. You can't keep that under the rug. Forgiveness and the empowerment.

And I do really thank you for your responses. This stuff is resurfacing and it's time to let it go. I love doing healing work, but I can only heal myself. That way it will better help me to help others.
I haven't heard of Teal Swan, but I think I'll need to look her up :). Thank you thank you thank to you guys :)

It could be an idea to see a counsellor who has the specific training and experience in this area. It's a specialised area, and not general counselling, so counsellors that specialise in it would probably be very helpful.

Sorry if it sounded like a daft question. When I was first asked that question, I said that I felt like I wanted to be cut open and have the experience removed. Although I spoke metaphorically and knew that couldn't happen, it was a first step to recognise that I needed to first accept the experience before I could start dealing with the effects of it.
I went to a specialist therapist who worked solely with people who had experienced sexual abuse. It offered a place where it was safe to let the deeper stuff surface with someone with me, with a week in between to let the residue surface. In that week I used many of the spiritual practises I understood. But I still needed that hour a week with a therapist to first, get to the real gritty stuff and later to guide me from a healthier perspective of what is ok.

Yes, I read a book called "Practical Shamanism: A Guide to Walking in Both Worlds" written by Kathie Weatherup. She discusses that shamanic healing can be used to heal childhood abuse. I hope this helps

I'm afraid I can't help you in regards to any particular type of healing, but as someone who knows someone else who has been sexually abused.......Meeting your twin soul will trigger a healing that is pretty much outside of your control, but it will be worth it. It worked for him.
