Out of Sight Out of Mind

They say time heals all wounds ... but how will you know you are totally over someone when you don't see them?

You will eventually stop thinking of them regularly.

You'll just know, I think. If there's any doubt whatsoever, I think it's probably fair to say you're not over them.

Getting to know new people and engaging in new hobbies helps accelerate the process, overall, it just takes time, really.

How about thinking and feeling you're over them then all of a sudden they show up or you bump into them?

Such things happen but if you make the effort to close a chapter in your life
then it'll substantially close. You can't erase memories but you have to
reckon them as just that: memories.

I've meet ex-es of mine from time time time and there may be nostalgic
moments but, well, at least I know I've moved on. So do they at a guess.

I just said in another thread "No use clinging to sentiment for its own sake"
and that would apply here to me, anyway.

You will know when you are over someone when you stop thinking about them romantically and you don't feel inclined to talk to them unless it is unavoidable. But getting over an ex is a lot of hard work, I needed a lot of therapy to end my relationship and it took months but it is over now for the last 5 years.
