Lightbulb My NDE/ Re-Birth

In January of 2009, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. If you're not familiar with the training, Marine Corps recruits go through a 13 week Boot Camp to earn the title of "Marine". At week 12, the recruits go through a 3 day training period known as "The Crucible", which is the culmination of the prior weeks of intense training.

At the end of week 12, the Crucible began for my platoon. I awoke prepared for the event even though I had began to feel ill (never give up was the phrase I repeated to myself); by the time I could get out of my rack I was too weak to even dress myself. I was rushed to a Battalion Aid Station where I was checked out and immediately sent to an off base hospital by ambulance. I had no idea what was going on, nor did the doctors. After a short stay at the first hospital I was transferred to another hospital because they didn't have the specialists or the means in my condition to take care of me.

After I had been sent to the ICU, my parents were called and told to prepare for the worse. I had an infection that made its way to my blood stream and spread to my organs which were deteriorating rapidly. My heart stopped beating that night.

I can't put into words entirely what I experienced that night, but the words that come to mind are: Overwhelming love, a light comparable to no other, and God (whatever your interpretation). Time, space, and anything in between no longer constricted or confined me; I was free.

I awoke with a new perspective and a sense of purpose (still searching and learning).

4 years later; I am a Corporal of Marines using my experiences to encourage others to broaden their awareness of the oneness of counsciousness and the divine.

Hey Cemel

Having a near death experience is ofter described as being full of love etc, myself i have had 3 near death experiences. and it can change how you view your life after
you have no fear of death because you have had a sneak preview,of what the spirit world is like, and you know first hand that there is no such thing as death only a continuation of life.i hope you are fully recovered now.

Thanks Native Spirit,

Honestly, I feel like a completely different person now. I feel that I was given a gift, that gift being love(awareness).I feel and see things so strongly now that all LIFE radiates with energy. Things like ego and fear aren't making the rules in my life anymore.

And you are definitely right, there is no death but an abundance of life.

I'm sure it gives you an outlook-perspective others lack.
A tough way to earn it though.

I am humbled when I meet or even read about people who experienced NDE. However there is one thing I have always wanted to know, all these people talk about light, are there incidences of people who saw darkness in their NDE? If so what does it symbolize?

Know its an old thread.

Did it become difficult to serve in the marines after experiencing this?

I imagine, if you were in a more combat role it would make it difficult to perform.

Its cool t hear from a Marine on here, my brother is just about to undergo DI training.

Miran,

Yes, it can be bothersome at times especially because I'm an Artilleryman, but things have a way of working themselves out. I choose to believe that I am where I'm supposed to be, though I have to remind myself from time to time that it is the "process" that is most important. No worries.

Wow, thank you. I am a strong believer in the NDE and the power they carry with them. I've had a family member experience one and everyday she wanted to go back.
God Bless you.

Thanks for the inspiring story, CemelDosce. In this age of rampant materialism, people need more than anything to be assured of their spiritual heritage.

One thing I noticed, there are lot of 12's associated with your post: Your NDE happened in the 12th week of basic training, and you made this post on 12/12/12, your 12th post! This may be more than coincidence, since 12 is a perfect number, according to numerology, signifying something complete and finished.

Semper fi.
