2 inhales on one breath in

I can't remember if I've asked this question before and couldn't find anything in my past threads so apologies if I have.

During my breathing when meditating I always without fail get what I've now started calling a double breath. Its like 2 inhales in one if that makes sense. If anybody has had the same or similar, do you know why it happens or what it means? I get this happen once during every meditation sometimes twice and I'm usually just before the 'nothingness' stage when it happens.

Its like something breathes me! It doesn't bother me or freak me out I'm just curious as to what it is or even, is it normal?

if you are being breathed you are probably being taught! I don't know who is the teachers though . But I think that the important part of this is the place between the two inbreathes. Similar to the place between an inbreath and and outbreath.

It happens to me occasionally, too. I wouldn't worry about it.

I think it happens as the body enters a deep Alpha state of consciousness.

Certainly not worth worrying about if you're not doing it constantly and it only happens during meditation.

There are 3 folds to the lungs, as you start to breathe deeper eventually the other folds to the lung open and hence the double in breath feel.
Part of the benefits of meditation are the physical ones which include higher levels of oxygenation of the body due to the deeper breathing.

Thank you FallingLeaves. Being taught what though! I don't have any teachers as such. I don't know why but I seem to find it easy to quiet my mind and I seem to be naturally able to do it quite fast. What would be able to breathe someone?
