The breath changes according to circumstances. If we are relaxed it is slow and deep, when we are stressed it is shallow and fast.

Think of the chakras like we do about the breath, it is an active indicator and an active participant in what we do. It adjusts to the given situation. So do the different chakras adjust, relating to different areas of our life and our interests at any given time.

Nobody advocates that we should stop breathing altogether, why should chakras be open or closed for an extended period of time? Let them do their thing in a natural way.

We know we can consciously manipulate our breath to achieve certain specific objectives but nobody in his right mind would say that we should manipulate the breath on a continual basis.

I took an online ' Chakra Test' and found that several are closed or in a negative state. I would like to improve on that. I'm assuming that all the Chakras should be fully open at all times

The chakras are like any muscle and can be over worked, so closeing them after a meditation is just like warming down from a run. It gives the chakra a nice rest so it can rebalance etc if it needs to.

It also means that you have less energy flowing through your aura so less likely to be disturbed by Spirit all the time.

You can work with just a few chakras open and the others closed, Iv known many a platform medium do that. I personally only open and wack up the power if I need to do a reading, or something mediumship wise, otherwise I close most of them and tick over just like an idoling engine of a car. If I get too much disturbance by Spirit (ie at night and first thing in the morning) I close the lot and bring in the aura to shut them up.

Assume you are a business person and have to fire someone. You'll want the throat chakra open to give the reasons and the heart chakra closed because business has it own rules.

You may want to say something here but you think that people may get offended, so you close your throat chakra.

You come home, you want your throat chakra open, modulated by the open third eye, heart and solar plexus chakra.

When a burglar breaks into your home you definitely want the base chakra to dominate with most other chakras playing a situation dependent role.

FrankChak: Xan - so we do have to manage our Chakras because that's how we clear the negative patterns.

Frank... Like clearing and healing any imbalances in our bodies and minds, it doesn't work through 'managing' or controlling, but by releasing where energy flows are blocked.

My question is this: should the Chakras be opened and left opened on a 24/7 basis? Should they be left open all the time? If they are closed then they cannot operate and yet Chakra meditations end with closing the Chakras. So they must never be closed because when they are closed they cannot operate. So they must never be closed - is that correct? I am asking whether the chakras should be closed shut and left shut between meditations.

As I said before, chakras work naturally when they are cleared... just like all the systems in our physical bodies. They don't need our constant monitoring or kept closed.

I suggest you just do the meditation and then trust them to function naturally.
