What is 'it' that survives??

Assuming we do go on after..

What is that goes on afterward, an astral body, a soul or just a disembodied mind?

If there really is a finer, more subtle body then why does it evade all scientific detection which is capable of detecting particles and now even gravity waves?

Or does nothing leave the body and we actually go inwards at death via our minds??

And how does this thing preserve our identity and appearance?

We have to grow in a womb here and grow throughout life and yet somehow we transform fully formed in the afterlife? Why go through all the stages in this physical life??

Im feeling cynical guys; I can think of my parent's ashes only a few miles away and I don't see how anything can survive the loss of the body. The soul is talked of now as being a natural part of existence and yet it cannot be detected AT ALL

It is your soul that goes on you have no need of a body in the spirit world.

what makes you think we are privy to all the knowledge "science" has?
do you actually believe that all new findings are being made available to the public?

if you can't see how anything survives the body, let it be.

What goes on past the life of the body is the simple experience of existence.
That sense of being something.
The I in "I am".
That subtle awareness is consciousness, and it comprises everything in the universe, and is the true center of the self.
And that awareness is continuous and infinite.
When you die you are born.
You play, rest, and rise to play again.

I think it is important to understand - that this life is another chapter in your book of existence.

There have been many chapters before, and there will be many chapters afterwards.

It is like we are swimming and we peer above the water - and that is this life.

We existed long before this lifetime. I know the illusion is very powerful - it is meant to be - but it is just a ride. ;)

The earth doesn't need human science to cycle around the sun.
The universe doesn't need human science to expand in every direction.

Human science may look very convincing, but it is very young and still knows very little about life and the universe.
If human science refuses to accept knowledge brought by serious spiritual channelers then what can you expect?

I suggest Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls. Both really awesome books. Also The Reluctant Psychic. Only Love is Real. Dying to Be Me. :) Let me know if you read them.

They do exist

Just my limited experience but, the afterlife individuals that I met were kind of like an invisible cloud-like presence. They were like an invisible presence with a very definite personality, knowledge and minds. This is pretty difficult to write about using the limits of the words and terms I currently know.

I have no idea why "science" dose not acknowledge the absolute presence of afterlife individuals and their energy. I suspect that 'science' does know about it but is reluctant to step up and admit it exists!

I have no idea what you mean. The ones I met were no longer in their body but had become space-like without any particular form. They had become Being instead of just Beings. Words just don't work here!

First of all it's not a 'thing'. It's us in a different form or dimension. The ones I met (my brother in law and my mom) were the same personality (not appearance - I never saw them as an image) as they were while in this world - just much happier and wiser.

The ones I met were not so much 'fully formed' but more like complete or formless yet whole. Again, words do not work very well in that realm.

Why not?

In my experience, the ones I met definitely survived their bodies because they are not and never were their bodies which are only possessions and tools that they used while on earth. We are not bodies!

The 'soul' or individual can be detected and has been detected by me and many others BUT it may not reveal itself to those who do not want to or cannot acknowledge it's existence. I met them because I am willing to meet them. They are constantly right here with, around and in us but we are either AFRAID of them or just not aware of them so they do not normally push them self upon us. I cannot tell you how to overcome cynicism (FEAR) but when you finally do, your parents will most likely contact you and you will be so happy to recognize and embrace them once more.
good luck,
jim

I've tried to put this into words before but with no success. Sometimes I am aware of my consciousness more than just being here, but being the 'me' that is aware that I am here. It scares the **** out of me. Like there's a 'me' that's living this life, and will die, and will continue, and I've just been made aware of this sense of being.

I can not give you what I remember and know. So hang in there. Wait and you will find out.

Let me say this and you can do with it what you want.
There is a structure beyond the soul, which will remain after the death of a body. It was there before and it will be there afterward.
