Mindfulness/meditation research
Hello, i am a student of psychology at Comenius University, Slovakia. I am conducting research in mindfulness, which is about the relationship between factors:
1. participant (trauma, childhood experiences, psychedelic experiences, physical and mental health, motivation to meditate, resilience),
2. programme (meditation) (type of practice, lenght and frequency),
3. competence of teacher, and their impact on occurence of meditation-related experiences and their interpretation. Could you please fill this questionnaire and / or send it to people who participated in mindfulness programme or meditate? Thank you very much!!!!
You can participate also if you meditate without teacher.
Questionnaire is good tool for self reflexion (of course anonymous), and i can post results if you are interested. Thank you for help.

Hi Jumper!
That's really awesome that you're conducting research about meditation. A very important subject to research.
I tried to click on the link you gave but it didn't work. Do I need to manually type the link?

I was happy when I saw the word "relationship" in there because that is rarely talked about and it is a big part of what is going on. What changes in one is the relationship between parts that make up what a person is... but then the parts listed there, participant, program, and competence of teacher don't really point to mindfulness, they point to pointing at it, either rightly or wrongly, (program/competence of teacher) and then the potential to achieve it and desire to seek it, (participant)
As far as mindfulness itself, the parts related to relationship are consciousness, depth of awareness, and brain/mind generated content.

The research isn't done right. No one is informed about who conducts the research, how this research will be used, what the research question is and under what hypothesis it is framed. Therefore there is no attention to informed consent. Ethical researchers would not neglect full informed consent.
The questions are of a highly personal nature, parental relations, life history, psychiatric conditions, drug use, etc. Anonymity is not the same as confidentially, and the 'researcher' hasn't explained how records will be kept secure or any other aspects of protected confidentiality.
The forum rules state: All requests for financial assistance from our members will be removed as will all requests for help with studies, research and the like, we have no way of knowing whether any of these requests are genuine and have decided to completely prohibit all such requests to protect the membership from scammers.
