Hi, George Here....Question?
Hi guys, I am interested in all things paranormal and spiritual and am a veteran of other forums. I am planning to spend a lot more time here.
Now, what attracts me to this forum is the lack of vicious, insulting and nasty fights on the threads. This is actually the hallmark of the forums I have been on lately and have gotten sick of the ugliness of people on those forums. I am attracted to this forum because I have seen civil and even loving disagreements in the things I read.
My question to you veteran internet people, is 'why is this the case?'. Is it because the moderators here have a very low tolerance for nastiness (as opposed to other forums) and pull the plug quickly on posts and posters that lose civility? Or are we just lucky the viscously insulting types don't find this forum?

Hi George,
To answer your question, yes, we are a bit more strict here at SF than the average forum, as it is a family forum. According to most online sources, spam and offensive language are the number one reasons a forum/web sight go under. So those are areas we greatly enforce here and of course, there is a zero tolerance policy on any kind of offensive or abusive activity. I am sure I am no stranger to a lot of people's inboxes here, heh, but I try to edit/fix as I go with the little things without having to directly notify...
We use a checks and balance type system when we moderate. In most cases, we would never have someone removed from this forum without approval or awareness from other Administrator/Staff. Lastly, we have a report button that we encourage members to use, and I feel this has been most helpful to us. To our surprise, it is used often, so we know our members don't welcome negative behavour either
That saying, enjoy, have fun
Kindest regards
fox
