A poem

I wanted to post this for those who really do believe in soul mates, I wrote this back in high school. Hope you like.

Silent lullaby

Hush now to this silent lullaby
Let me dry the tears from your eyes.
Let me take your fears away and show you a world where there’s no pain.

Hush now my love
Close your eyes for me,
Lay your head to rest and sleep an endless dream.

Listen to this song
So you may grow your wings
Then take my hand and fly away with me.

Leave behind your worries and fears
Leave behind your regrets and tears
Let me show you a love in which I hold
Let it replace this sadness so cold…

Just take my hand and I’ll hold you tight,
I’ll keep you safe through you’re darken nights…

Hush now my love,
Lets close our eyes and sleep away the night.
We’ll grow our wings and fly away
As we sing our silent lullaby.

Forget-me-not

I stand on this hill top with the wind against my back and watch my memories form upon the sand.
Forget-me-not….

I’m standing here now with these seeds in my hand.
Vessels for our memories to live within
Forget-me-not…

I’ve waited for you, but you haven’t come and now I know I'm not the one…
What will become of us?
What will become of these seeds?
Will they grow into delicate flowers to which their destined to be?
Forget-me-not…

I’ve listened to my heart, but its voice is so low.
It can no longer be heard over the hurt and sorrow…

Can you hear its song?
It likes an ancient melody.
Forget-me-not…

My body hurts from the pain of losing you, but I keep silent.
Is there a way to keep you near?
No, to keep you near would be like trapping the wind…
Forget-me-not…

I cry for you, but only in the shadows where I cannot be seen.
My head is so clustered and full of worries…
I could just drown myself into the sea.
Forget-me-not

I come to a conclusion as I hold these seeds close to my heart.
I’ll plant them into the ground so their journey may start.
Our memories will grow within them and they will bloom; I will leave and come back soon.

Once they have grown I will come back, pluck the petals and place them in my hand.
Stand on the hill top with the wind against my back.
I’ll say these words and hold out my hand:

My love,
My best friend,
My eternal flame, lets not forget the memories we’ve made.
Though we go our separate ways, remember our bond, remember me always…
Let the wind take these petals from my hand and fly away.
May the wind find you and place these petals into your garden
Then sing the words in which I have said.
Forget-me-not, my eternal beloved.


P.S
I will admit, this was once for him.
I'm now am adrift in the memories, the emotions its left behind.
It lingers there in my heart, that burning he left.
But now I separate this poem from him.

This is now free to be for whoever,
I seek another...

This is a beautifully written piece and words flow naturally and spontaneously and yet you seem to be an escapist. This world, love, relationship cannot go without worries, fears, regrets and tears and they are complementary, not dismantling elements. No lovers can go for ever along with each other without tears.
