When you surrender something to God the self confirms itself back with the play of the mind but it's not all bad news as the mind dilutes with every surrender

When I have surrendered some "big" stuff in the past I have witnessed some big parts of the mind lose the battle and the self became clearer every time

This thread is surrendered to God, let us see him weave the message

The concept of surrender
Appears to be self defeating
As is repression
As is control
As is effort
As is anything ...
In which there is a doer
A self serving doer
Doer implying ...
A separate self
And therefore limited
Ignorant
Misdirected
Whereas simply recognising ...
With humour
Abundant humour
And joy ...
Since there is no reason ...
To be serious
For we are not
As in
The self is not
And what we are
Is limitless consciousness
In momentary form
Seemingly confined
The narrow seemingness...
Being egoic delusion
Which we may choose
Here & now
To put aside
So we are carefree
In free flowing be-ness
Unseeking
Accepting
The unfolding
As it may occur
In timeless time
Then, as we were
As we are
In oneness
There is no self
As in a separate self
And so
Nothing to surrender

Surrender was something I did in an altered state, when I gave up the desire to be "one" with myself, to be unified with other people if that meant being happier. Long story short.

I didn't reach enlightenment at that moment, but it was a necessary step in the journey.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.

Maybe you understand something else by "surrender" than I do ...

surrender to me doesn't mean passivity or inaction. It means sacrifice or altruism, putting the needs of others on par or above the needs of myself.

When we breathe, we surrender the inhalation to the exhalation...The exhalation to the inhalation, bringing full awareness to the momentary pause existing between each.

When we have thoughts, we surrender the outgoing thought to the incoming thought...The incoming thought to the outgoing one, bringing full awareness to the momentary pause existing between each.

Surrender means to be in the total state of "allowing" without the mind or ego thinking about all the reasons why and what will be achieved by doing so.

Ha! Each day brings another fun thing.
As related to the question. I suppose it could be called surrender, that
I am simply seeing there is so little 'me'....I apparently forgot one major ingredient making my week's dog food....
so what happens?
I open my freezer for something ...but of all the things in there what drops out?
The liver slices!
"Oh, thank You, Lord...You knew I'd forget."
Is there even a me?

Seems it's just all God, everywhere.
