No connection with pendulums?

I used to have pendulums, and I feel they're never right. I tried to keep my hand perfectly still (I make sure windows are closed, fan in my room is off, and i am no way trying to influence the movement). I ask questions, it will answer yes, but then when the situation comes most of the time it seems like it was wrong.

Am supposed to use it more or something? Or just wasn't connecting to that particular pendulum?

In a way I do feel closer to tarot sometimes, but pendulum seems so nice and simple but of course it's only yes or no questions.

What if pendulum is telling me what I want to hear/see? I hope not :( I do double check sometimes or tell it to please answer honestly.

Hey there!
Yes they can be bemusing sometimes... First I don't believe it matters what you use for a pendulum, an old nut and bolt on a bit of string still works as good as a 'real' one! For years I used a metal tip off of an old ball point pen that just had the right shape... Start by just asking for yes/no answers to see what the response is just to tune in to the process.
Yes they will tell you what you want to hear if you can't detach yourself sufficiently from the question, which yes is a hard thing to do most times. To get around this, I keep a stack of regular playing cards with my tarot cards, if I need a yes, no and it's something a bit personal like that, I assign a black card for no, and a red card for yes. Shuffle them a bit and put the face down, ask which card is the answer to the question. Also a cool thing to do is combine the tarot cards and the pendulum, that way it picks out the cards for you, this seems to be outrageously successful...
As a bit of an exercise, grab some food items out of the fridge and lay them out on the bench. Go over each one one at a time and ask if this item of food is healthy or unhealthy for me today, just empty your mind of expectations, don't even look at it if it helps, and just see what it starts to do....
Good luck!

Thanks :)

Yeah maybe I can use tarot for yes or no questions instead, though I hear they're not really good with yes or no questions but I guess depends on who you word your question?

They dont really do yes/no questions, but they can fill in with a bit more information, I think Ive found that if the cards sort of echo back the question to me then its the cards way of confirming that Im right, or they may tell you something different....

What great information! I've just acquired my first pendulum, and a book about where to begin. I love having come across this reply! Great ideas to help become distanced from the question at hand.

Thanks!

Tip: Draw circular charts to see how it responds. One of my exercises is to draw chakras in a half circle to see how my chakras are doing.

You can also ask your pendulum if a chakra is not in balance and later request it to balance it.

I wanted to say thank you to King of Pentacles. I have been using the pendulum for about 2 months now and always worry I influence the answer. Some of the answers will be consistent for a week and then change the last minute. Not sure why? Maybe you can suggest something to correct what I am doing wrong, asking incorrectly. I try to be as literal as I can.

But why I wanted to say thank you was on another thread and I have no idea where I read your suggestions was writing questions down and putting them in envelopes. Asking for the Y/N answer with no idea what questions was in the envelope since I shuffled. I felt better once I got the answers because there was no idea on how I would be able to influence them.

This answers however, where or should be within the near future. Any chance those would change? Any advice would be welcomed since I am trying to expand my spiritual scope. Thanks again and love to read your replies.

First time I used a pendulum. It did not move at all. At the time I think also it was partly because I was not spiritual grounded and I was just looking for a pendulum to give me the answers that I was hoping to hear. That part of my life I just recently moved out of my parents into apartment and I think I was looking for something or someone who could assure me of things

But now I can make it move. It will even move if there is a fan. It picks my energy and the ArchAngels assist in providing the right answers.

The thing in using a pendulum You need to be in a calm state Not nervous, Stressed or depressed or tired because then it will not work for you. That is what I've learned from using it from my experience

I started off recently and had questions on similar lines. My tutor says your pendulums have a way of trying to understand if this is for you or not.

My tutor laid out like 30 pendulums for me to choose from and my eyes were fixated on a florite one even when i kept looking at others i seemed to have been falling back for this one. So.. thats now my first pendulum .. which didnt give me a response when I tried to name it over several minutes however when I tried a few minutes later it seemed alright but wouldn't answer my questions.

I'd say with new pendulums give a few days before you're comfortable with the responses.

Be very careful with the answers you seek... You need to cleanse yourself of that energy before you ask the pendulum. I usually do a grounding meditation and then surround myself with white light before asking questions. That way I wouldn't influence it with the energy which might be the wrong decision for me.

Additionally, I've learnt to accept the answer it provides... asking the same question over and over... one would generally end up subconsciously influencing it which would be wrong.
