How to make a difference
Hey Guys,
I am brainstorming ideas on what I can do to make a difference in my community. I live in San Diego, a beautiful city in California. We have the usual problems that any city has: crime, homelessness, limited housing, etc.
I'm thinking of volunteering or starting a non-profit. What are your thoughts, ideas, and priorities? Maybe you can inspire me.

I suggest that you use your inner source of knowledge for guidance.
Access it in whatever way you already do, or start doing it now: meditation, prayer, lucid dreaming (astral projection), self-hypnosis, ...
Your inner source of knowledge has access to all the information past, present, future.

Personally i cant do as much as i'd like. Anxiety and depression keep me from most ways of helping the community, so instead i try to be as helpful as possible to those around me.

make a difference
Serving community is indeed a very noble goal.It can be done in myriad ways.
Immediate one I can think of for California is afforestation to prevent wild fires n creating bigger n larger awareness for the same.

Think globally, not locally. I also had the thought of helping the people in my city and then God told me it would be better to use the internet to help people all over the world. Use social media. Buy ads. Rampant promiscuity is the biggest problem in the world at the moment. Girls take on the bad karma of every boy they sleep with and it's ruining the spiritual women of the future. I know two women who lost their souls in the sexual act. It's that bad. Drugs are next on my list...

The only way to truly make a fundamental difference is to focus on yourself and not others

I Am on the council for my area we do everything for our own area, the money we spend comes from a small precept of money we get from the horrid council charge we have here.
what we do is not always appreciated by the young at all. the elderly are looked after to we don't forget them.
I have being doing this for over 20 years.
if you have a community council in your area you could join them.

Just be yourself and do your own stuff because you can't change people unless you are Jesus Christ or some figure like that.

I used to do voluntary work for a charity for the same reason as you.I found that I was used by the staff members to do jobs that they didn't want to do.In the end I was doing their work and not getting anything out of it.

Hi... I got fed up of donating to charities and not knowing where my money was going. So in the end I sponsored a single child to pay for their education and see them through to adulthood.
