In some instances, evil effectively drives a person toward God / Good. My way of saying it is, "the rise of evil makes the people o so Holy".

Where evil does not drive some toward the Divine, it condemns them.

evil is destructive, the opposite of constructive. A soul that is not saved or safe may suffer condemnation and destruction. It is very possible to damn a soul and destroy it.

Think of it as a House, a condemned building. The foundation is fractured. There is an infestation of predatory and parasitic life form (snakes, mice, maggots, cockroaches, worms, spiders, flies, mites, virus and microbes, etc.). The ceiling has fallen in, the windows are cracked. The old pipes rattle and bang as colored water sputters from the spout. Dirty mattresses lay on a bare wooden floor, with protruding staples and nail tips threatening to slice heels. Piles of trash are waist high along side a table of bottles and razors, muddy colored styrofoam cup ashtrays and miscellaneous weapons. Skulls are spray painted on walls that are smeared with every filth imaginable. Mockery is displayed throughout as such a place is not without Christ, in the most depraved and perverted expressions their twisted minds produce. Murderers, rapists, sadistic torturers, thieves... this is only one sort of abode of evil. There are other forms of it.

evil is a predator. It's favorite target are the innocent. It's goal is to conquer and own, ruin and destroy, enslave and subjugate. Sadistic, it likes to punish and torture. These things are the opposite of Christ, who is universally accepted as Good, not evil.
