A gobsmacking revelation.

The east exerts its influence upon me. From what I gather the eastern teachings tell us that it is the inner "I" which is God itself. That was an earthshattering realisation for me. I don't know how many past lives I have spent arguing with the "I" - but I'm sure it is lots.

I *wanted* God to be God; a creator. Someone like Yahveh or Allah. But no cries the east. God is your own self. I'm still reeling. Perhaps Christ's teaching can make sense of this. He stated that He is The Son of God. He implied that He is subservient too - to the Father. Perhaps the inner "I" is God but perhaps it is best not to try and be ALL of it. Perhaps it is best to remain in second place?

I'm slowly acclimatising to the idea that "I" am God. But I lean on western teaching that we are subservient.

Honza,

Believe me, I'm still reeling from my own discovery of these revelations myself, 30 years later.

As indicated in the 1st reference, "It's what Jesus came to show us; this way to perceive ourselves aright. But we got sidetracked and mislead to accept that Jesus, Himself, was our salvation, instead of understanding through the example of His life and resurrection that His and our Father is the very Life of all."

In the 2nd reference, you may come to understand why we, as individual expressions of the Infinite Power and Intelligence of the Universe,....were never created to be "subservient", as erroneously promulgated in western teachings, but that...

"God, or Universal Mind, made man for the special purpose of differentiating Himself through him."

Finally, in the 3rd reference, I believe you'll ascertain what Christ's teachings actually mean when seen from the perspective of consciousness:

If you, the reader, will give up all of your former beliefs in a God apart from yourself, and claim God as your awareness of being – as Jesus and the prophets did – you will transform your world with the realization that, “I and my father are one.” This statement, “I and my father are one, but my father is greater than I,” seems very confusing – but if interpreted in the light of what we have just said concerning the identity of God, you will find it very revealing. Consciousness, being God, is as ‘father.’ The thing that you are conscious of being is the ‘son’ bearing witness of his ‘father.’ It is like the conceiver and its conceptions. The conceiver is ever greater than his conceptions yet ever remains one with his conception. For instance; before you are conscious of being man, you are first conscious of being. Then you become conscious of being man. Yet you remain as conceiver, greater than your conception – man.

Hope this, and the references, below helps you lean on a whole new realization about Who You (we) Are.

There is wisdom in everything. And we are both. I cannot create universes, can I? So obviously I am not the Creation Source which created this universe.

It took me a long time to realize that too. I was born a Catholic and was taught about the holy trinity. I could understand the father (god), the son (Jesus) but for the life of me I had no idea what they were talking about with the holy Spirit. I learnt about the holy spirit (consciousness) through my study of Buddhism. I now consider Jesus to be the ultimate bodhisattva. These days I go to mass once or twice a year and go to the Thai temple about the same amount. I've come to a happy and relaxed place with my spirituality and don't really need Catholic priests or Buddhist monks dictating terms and conditions to me. As a matter of fact if I could find a religion that honored both Jesus and buddha, I'd happily become a devotee but I don't think that's likely to happen.
