This Temple is just insane and makes one wonder - how they did it? I will leave it to you to decide, but remember everything you're seeing is made out of bedrock, mmh yes everything here are connected by the same stone from the bedrock, no stone blocks has been used. This is a mountain, and they've cut off, chopped all the stone away, it's impressive.
War conquerors have tried to destroy the temple over a period of time, but they could only scratch some of the faces off, and the rest of it, well.. they had only a very little effort. It's just too strong and using tools, they had a hard time, it was so harsh for them, when they're trying to destroy it by brute force. They didnt do anything at all. They left again, because they saw no use to keep on trying.
