Your current tactic hasn't brought you the results you are after. Lesson learned.

You need a different game plan, one in which you will implement the lessons you have learned about your body.

Start with an achievable objective for yourself and focus on that.

It's sounds like your body is in a catabolic state. Your body breaks down muscle tissue and restores in fat.

What you need to do is get your body in a anabolic state where your body will maintain (and build) muscle and burn fat.

You will feel and be more healthy in this state.

You can do this by consuming more protein and fat. Your diet should like something like 40% protein 40% carbs and 20% fat.

Can you post your daily diet? If you want to I can help make a diet plan.

You do three workouts a week right? Do you have access to weights? I can help build a training routine for you, one that can change your metabolism and the way your body responds to resistance training.

I would also suggest that you visit your doctor to rule out any medical problem - there are certain conditions which might make it hard for you to lose weight. This is about finding health as much as anything else.

I don't know how old you are but it does er get harder to shift the pounds as you get older -- I can speak from experience.

been to dr no med probs, thyroid is functioning better yay! and to Dreamer_love no my body is not burning muscle and storing fat - i am building muscle because i am no longer sore at all after riding - even riding 11 miles over an aggressive hunt course jumping 30+ obstacles at a 6mph hard pace. so i know that the muscle is clearly getting stronger and more fit. i'm just not sure why my body is so hesitant to metabolize the fat. everything else makes sense, that just does not. i think there's some sort of blockage that's in the way and i have a feeling it has to do with me energetically. i just can't figure out what it is. i do something physical daily now and am much better off for it, so even in my most cynical moods, i know going back to beers and wings is NOT the right diet!

Hi CJ82Sky,
To boost metabolism and lose 20-30 pounds consider interval training and stick with cardio exercise. Stay active, lift weights and watch what you eat. Stay hydrated by drinking more water , prefer raw food over processed food and break meals in 5-6 small meals including snacks. Schedule a nighttime workout and don't skimp on sleep.
