Strange experiences during meditation
I am new to meditation, but have always been what I describe as intuitive. This week I decided to implement meditation into my daily routine. Each day, I have strange things that occur while meditating. I apologize for the lengthiness of this post, but thought maybe others could provide some insight as to what is going on.
To start, I will say that I lay down to meditate with palms open and up. During my first meditation, I felt a strange sensation in my hands, as though someone had placed something in them. It had weight to it and felt as if I were holding pulsating orbs. I began to see just an image of the color purple swirling around and I could hear the word "Reiki" repeated over and over. This lasted for the entirety of the meditation session. I interpreted this as receiving message and that I needed to look into learning Reiki.
Today during meditation, I asked for positive, healing energy. I felt that sensation in my hands again, but this time I could feel it growing larger and my hands had to move to expand with it. Then I felt this electricity shoot through my whole body. My body was rigid the way you would imagine someone who was being electrocuted, but there was no pain. It kept coming in waves. I'd feel it building in my hands and then it would shoot through my body over and over. It lasted at least a few minutes. When it was over, I felt very relaxed. Then I asked if my spirit guide had any messages for me. I had another strange sensation in my body, This one is hard to describe, but it was as if a large magnet was above me and I was being pulled up (even though I didn't move) I was unable to move at all during this time, but the force of it was intense. When it ended, I had a flash of myself and heard my voice in my own head say "I need to speak to Damon."
I do not know anyone named Damon. I decided to see if there was any spiritual significance to this name and this is what I found " The ancient sages taught that every human being has a mortal lower self, called the eidolon and an immortal Higher Self (Soul) called the DAEMON. The eidolon is the embodied self, the physical body, and ego personality. The Daemon is the Spirit, the true Self, which is each person's spiritual connection to God.From the eidolon's point of view the Daemon appears to be an independent Guardian Angel. Disciples and seekers who still identify with the eidolon, therefore, do not experience the Daemon as their own true Self, but as a spirit guide, whose job it is to lead them to their spiritual destination."
Has anyone experienced anything similar to any of this? Or any thoughts as to what I've been experiencing? Thanks!
