The most Christian films and books?

Which films and books capture the Christian spirit the best?

I think The Polar Express does a very good job of capturing the spirit of what Jesus taught. I find it to be an amazingly deeply spiritual flick in so many ways.

The old B&W film "It's A Wonderful Life" is very Christian too. One of the all time favourite Christmas films these days.

Best is of course subjective and depends on what sort of Christianity you are into.

I think "Joshua" is good for just about anyone. It is a story about what it would be like if someone like Jesus showed up in a small town. There are miracles but they are very down to earth and closely connected to everyday life. And it demonstrates a simple personal nature of Christianity.

"The Shack". This one is intense so plan for that. People who read the book say the movie it's missing a lot but it was fine for me. So if you like to read and really want depth the book would be better to start with. I've heard there are even study groups for this book.

"The Cokeville Miracle". A true story about a hostage crisis at an Elementary School.

"Padre Pio: Miracle Man". TV movie. Excellent story about Padre Pio and his challenges of being persecuted by the Church and also attacked frequently by Satan. In Italian with English subtitles. Good story for devout Catholics.

All these 3 movies are based on the Bible, yes, if you search them in the Bible, you will find their stories.
