I will say that when people dislike certain oils, it's usually because their body desperately needs it. At least that's what I was taught at Massage Therapy school in our Aromatherapy class with a Certified instructor who uses nothing other than Young Living oils.

That is really interesting, Kylie<3. I will start really watching how I react to different oils.

Hi Dream angel yes churches burn frankinsence in mass, it is a great aid for meditation too, i tend to blend frankincence in some of my face creams along with hyssop, as it aids in a good nights sleep too.
Love GA x

This s really interesting, my frankincense smells like a blokes aftershave, where I read it was supposed to smell sweet, I got mine for healing also. but I also read it has varying smelling qualities depending on the grade, so do I may change my brand?

That's funny, I always wondered why I have such a horror of frankincense. I actually go into a panic when I smell it....I was even wondering if there's something satanic in me, lol....but I have no problems with forgiveness....maybe it's a frightening buried memory from childhood, being in church.

I love frankincense and sandalwood. I have soy candles made with that mixture of essential oils that I've been using while meditating...bliss.

I am only a dabbler in essential oils (I have a handful that I use regularly) and mostly have Aura Cacia oils which I bought at my local natural foods market. Is this brand not very good? Is Young Living the "gold standard"?

I would honestly say that if you find the scent repugnant, you should use a different oil with similar properties. Essential oils effect us on so many levels, and if you are experiencing a negative reaction, it's sending your "lizard brain" into fight-or-flight, which will not help your healing process. I have heard other oils such as lemongrass, thyme and oregano suggested for cysts. Maybe research and see if one will suit you better?

Muileag - there are a number of very reputable essential oil companies. Aura Cacia isn't "the very best" but it's quite serviceable, and I have a few in my own outcall bag. Do some research and find a good company with organic or wild-gathered sources, if you can. I have a few that I use frequently.
