Any times Paul seems less restrictive is when he is reflecting the original Christianity of Jesus

Well put. Perhaps Paul, with his background as a Pharisee, was indeed doing some "judaising himself by actually introducing these things".

There is undoubtedly a lot of good stuff in the Bible and the scriptures of all traditions, but there is also at least some stuff that requires at least some questioning as you have duly noted.
