There are so many different faiths and psychic/spiritual practices & arts that many sections are needed.
If you stick to 'New Posts' or just the sections you're interested in, it stays manageable.

Hi bees...
I remember feeling similar to you when I first joined...The sheer number of subforums felt extremely overwhelming to me at first, but as knight mentioned, I mostly stuck to the areas I was interested in at the time...
Even with sections I'm not super active on, I'll start at the top of the main forum and work my way down...Other times I'll jump to the parts I'm most interested in then backtrack to the other forums...I have a habit of bouncing around here and there (Hee Hee) ...
Now it's not quite as overwhelming as it once felt to me...

Hi Beesliketoplay, lovely username. For the most part, the forum has been left exactly the way the creater/owner designed it. So changes or rennovations are very rare.The suggsetion of clicking "new posts" or "user CP" is the best option to see members latest updates.
Also, many members like to contact us (Admin & moderators) directly if they have questions or concerns, so I do encourage you to contact me if you have a question or are having any sort of issue..
