Angry Brown Rice Highest in Arsenic

Surprised to find arsenic in many brands of brown brice. I eat Mahatma brand regularly but it appears to be one of the higher ones in arsenic.

..."Boiling the rice in a 6:1 water-to-rice ratio (sort of how you’d cook pasta), draining the excess water once cooked, has been shown to remove up to 60 percent of arsenic levels in rice. Rinsing before you cook can also reduce arsenic levels. In other words, flush the rice with lots of water."...

You can soak your rice overnight, that removes most of it and makes it more digestible, definitely annoying though yes

..".And if you can't be bothered to monkey with your rice? Putting things into proportion, the FDA estimates that exposure to arsenic in rice and rice products causes about four cases of lung and bladder cancer over the lifetime for every 100,000 Americans. In other words, the rice habit is responsible for a fraction of 1% of America's lung and bladder cancer cases..."

Color Beans, Rice, Bran, Bread and Coffee

Same thing I eat every day beans in one format or another, with bread.

Most commonly I eat soy. Getting more and more into refried pinto beans.

Chili beans{ kidney-pinto-norther etc }.

Trying to do more garbonzo and navy beans

Oh yeah coffee last ten years.

POST raisin bran and regular basis.

1 or 2 5% Alcohols is getting more regular at night with dinner/supper.

Blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. And coffee.

Some yakisoba noodles with vegetables.

Some home-made caramelized onion dip with root vegetable chips.

Baby turnip and purple kale salad.

One kiwi.

Lots of strawberry orange juice...

Breakfast: A toasted engish muffin with smart balance and peach jam and some veg sausage with coffee.

Skipped out on lunch, too busy

Dinner: Roasted tri-color baby potato salad with garlic and rosemary, some half pickled celery w/diced serrano pepper and chives mixed in, along with some crumbled roasted tempeh glazed with barbecue sauce. This was so good. Will omit the serrano next time, but haven't cooked with it in forever so wanted to touch base with it.
