Consciously unconscious
Has anyone found that there's a big difference between actively attempting to be 'conscious' in your life - whatever mental state that means for you - and just genuinely going with the flow of it? Listening to what you feel, letting your emotions flow freely, chasing wherever your heart is beating towards for no reason besides trusting your instinctual wants?
It's a funny feeling - it doesn't quite feel cloudy, just very contentedly detached. Sometimes it feels like trying to control how much of a spiritual person you are, or how aware and dictative you are of every single moment within your life might seem like spiritual power; but the opposite, giving up the want for that power and truly surrendering to yourself and to the process of life itself, is actually the strongest power of all.
Feel like this is something very obvious that I've missed for quite a while - lol. Anyone else had this kind of realization? Would so love your thoughts! :) Thank you!

Yes, trying is tension, tension is stress, so to genuinely go with the flow is to not try. To try to not try is trying, so one must be in a complete let go to flow! I agree that trust is involved and that the more one trusts the more it can let go, and the more one lets go the more it trusts, as, if one doesn't trust then its trying to control which again leads to tension and stress.

Fleur de Frost, I love your user name and avatar - both are beautiful
I don't know if I grok completely, but in my practice, or life, I have always gone the au natural way, which is I don't try to be "spiritual" (whatever that means) but I stay alert, aware, natural and conscious - always watching and always learning inwardly. I believe a Tibetan teacher coined the term "spiritual materialism" but it hasn't had too much relevance to my way.
Hope that helps!
Namaste,

If you are aware of your own self talk, and sometimes even alter it! then you are now more conscious....
Its as simple as that, you don't need to meditate for a 1000 hours or even get caught up in the subconscious mind. (I am not quite a fan of the subconscious mind to honest, as i think it is a hindrance to mankind! i think its best we stop putting it on a pedestal! and once you do that? BAM! that's when you become more conscious)......
But obviously sometimes in this society we get knock out of his state, its what sales people try and do to you! Its probably what the mainstream media try and do to people as well! but sometimes i will say this? its good to go with the flow and open up when you are in the right environment or situation..........you know something fun.
