My feeble first attempt at Haiku written years ago. I still feel the same feelings when I read or speak it!
A leaf
alone, trembling,
clings to a barren branch.
A bitter wind blows, yet the leaf
survives

Oh my god, what an awesome thread. I'm going to be writing haiku for the next week for this one 
Okay, here's one I just came up with.
The light of the heart
Such as the northernmost star
But ever closer
