I think, fairies are more bipartisan. They arent good or bad (nature remember). If you make them mad, theyll send diseases, and spoil your crops or cows milk. If you work with them, theyll work with you. Its actualy sort of simple.

You have to remember fairies have really got changed from their original form for literaly reasons. We think of tinkerbell, not the original celtic/germanic traditions. Thats what faries are about, read up on celtic traditions and go from there....

Picrotale - I dislike your signature LOLOL im over 6 feet all and wide shoulders, and have always had eventful journeys

We have fairies that come and visit us. They started coming around when my daughter was about 4. She would talk to them as she got older and one in particular seemed to be quite attached to her and would go to school with her. At night, when she was in bed, they would come by to visit. Now that she's older (almost 14), she doesn't talk to them as much. But I've experienced their mischievous side: I've had had a blanket fly off my shoulders when taking a nap and my shoulder shoved to awaken me (I was on my side and my body was pushed with the shove). It seems that they like to visit me when I am napping and if I am asleep, they will awaken me to let me know they are there. I've fussed at them for waking me, as I suffered from chronic fatigue and when I took a nap, it is because I needed the sleep. After that, they waited until I woke up to say hello.

I just wish that I could see them better. I can only see dots of colored lights appear and then disappear and in my darkened bedroom when I wake up from my naps, all I see are energy outlines of tiny little bodies with wings. Once, I saw one sitting on the door frame and when I said hello, she flew over to the bed. Another time, I saw a fairy with faint redish light with a hummingbird! The hummingbird (again, energy outline) seemed quite interested in the azalea print on my pillow sham!!

Most of the time, our fairies (can I call them that?) are quite friendly and nice.

They apperantly do just enough to make you think they are real, yet still dont give enough evidence to be like " ahhhh a fairy did this"....

All literature descibes them as tricky LOL

I believe that there are not bad or good faeries-- but there are faeries who choose a positive attitude and try to be more constructive and forgiving, and some who choose negativity and possibly form kinships with demons-- just as with humans -- and probably various ET's out there as well.

They seem to have ,i.e fairies, a somewhat ambiguious atittude towards humans, the literature concerning them paints a picture of vindictiveness, but sometimes, they are helpful, but always if it suits them, they do have similarities to the reported "alien" occupants of u.f.o.s.This has been noted by several authors on the u.f.o. phenomena

I personally feel that all intelligent life has choices-- and there are not any bad or good- but just some who are bent towards destructive paths, and some who choose to climb higher paths- even if it means sacrifice.

This is the same for we humans as well as any Extra Terrestrials out there, Angels, Faery , Elves, Gnomes, Goblins, etc, etc......

In Norse mythology, there are two Realms of Faerie:
Svartalfheim (the home of the "Dark Elves")
Alfheim (Home of the "Bright Elves")

So definitely in that myth structure, Faerie was seen as a Realm of both 'light' and 'dark'.

This is quite a good website to outline the basics of Norse Mythology:

http://www.viking-mythology.com/theNineWorlds.html

(Also -off-topic a bit, but -The legend of the Rainbow Bridge, the bridge connecting Heaven and Earth (and which we often talk about poetically today when a beloved pet passes away) - originates in Norse Mythology!
