Secret/hidden rooms, doorways etc all relate to hidden/yet to be discovered parts of our selves/psyche that we have yet to discover. How you FEEL in a dream is significant - e.g. you could be running through the dream landscape and be happy, skipping, jumping etc. But you could also feel apprehensive, scared or whatever. Can you remember how this dream made you feel?
If you felt negatively when finding these rooms then perhaps there is an apprehension there by you about discovering hidden parts of yourself. If you felt positive then perhaps that could be because you are enjoying finding out about yourself.

yeah, something about your description made it sound more like a storage
room then a 'control center'... meaning you would've uncovered access to
some hidden knowledge, previously unavailable to you -- something new
