By chance I've just read about a Christian mystic from Cyprus: Daskalos. You can start from this interview with Daskalos (3rd on that page: A Man Of Faith – Interview -Daskalos, October 30, 2010), then search him with google.

There is also a book about him: The Magus of Strovolos by Kyriacos C. Markides (I haven't read it yet).

Daskalos stated in an interview:
"Everything has been distorted nowadays. Christianity is not founded on dogmas - these are human weaknesses. All dogmas contain within them the weaknesses of those who rule. True Christianity is based on only two instructions: love God with your heart, soul, and intelligence; and love every other being as you love your own self. What is not that is not Christianity for me."

This is an article about Daskalos (1912-1995).

the bible is the best book to read, it's based on the one true God's words, Jehovah. who's perfect in all that he does. imperfect men gives their opinions and what they believe to be true. such as the world came through evolution, and NOT a High and Holy Spirit being.

You may find The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi Dowling interesting.

Peace.

Actually there are three books about Daskalos by Kyriacos C. Markides:

The Magus of Strovolos: The Extraordinary World of a Spiritual Healer
Homage to the Sun: The Wisdom of the Magus of Strovolos
Fire in the Heart: Healers, Sages, and Mystics.

Peace

It seems that only the first book was written with Daskalos' accord, then he became displeased with Markides' presentation of his work.

Ignore modern books the classics stand on a plane all of their own

The complete works of Hadewijch the 13th century mystic
"Where the abyss of his wisdom is, he will teach you what he is, and with what wondrous sweetness the loved one and the Beloved dwell one in the other, and how they penetrate each other in such a way that neither of the two distinguishes himself from the other. But they abide in one another in fruition, mouth in mouth, heart in heart, body in body, and soul in soul, while one sweet divine nature flows through them both and being in each other they are both one and they remain completely one -- yes, and remain so forever"

The Odes of Solomon, 1st century to 2nd

I didn't think anyone knew about her. 'Book of Visions'.
Along with Mechthild's The Flowing Light of the Godhead, Catherine of Sienna and many more.

Ah, The Aquarian Gospel !
I love all the New Thought authors
Joel S. Goldsmith ...Conscious Union with God, Practicing the Presence
John Randolph Price...The Superbeings, Nothing is Too Good to be True
Catherine Ponder, Florence Scovel-Shinn The Game of Life And How to play It...ha...
and many more!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
