Why do you want to spirits? You could talk to people, that is similar. Unless one is very soundly based in oneself and an ability to hold firmly under all circumstances to the True Self and in Love, without aversion, I don't recommend going to search for "spirits". Let alone seek that advice on an internet or random person. My 2c.

there is an expression that goes: "we are all thoughts in god's mind".
that would include spirits as well.
no special effort is required to have thoughts appear in our minds,
so, to contact good spirits, entertain good thoughts.
(be in a "positive vibration")
ascertain the "goodness" of thoughts by the feeling that is associated
with it/them... the mood of a thought is recognizable; "good" thoughts
are warm, uplifting, supportive, generous, and/or similar vibrations.
speak with respect and with a similar caring vibration.

If spirits wish to communicate they will find a way. Attempting to seek them out is dangerous and irresponsible IMHO. I have seen many people suffer consequences as a result.

Quiet the mind and wait - things will happen when you aren't pushing. If you are trying to initiate contact it most likely wont happen.
