"an ant, miniscule, amongst vastness, where I alone appreciate how small I am".
How poetic, relatable too.
Curious to see who notices my forum name, it's a play on the word "Remember". For one former SF Aussie member (many years ago) she commented on how relevant it was to remember...
To not forget the past in order to grow from it.
For me, it is more personal, to remember who I truly am, the innermost self.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am the mangroves, I am a hungry crow
I rode my pushie down to the river yesterday,
My hair a mess and my anger wild and untamed.
The tide was low, a crow was dining on a fish
which was flailing about, caught in the mangroves.
Nature was putting on its finest show.
The bat colony was squaking,
fighting their mates for a place to
roost in the Melealueca trees...
life was awash with drama and beauty.
Baby bream were biting my toes as I was swimming (a fish pedicure).
goes to show how against my better wishes,
my body is just food for the fishes.
I was treated to uninterrupted views,
The sky and the sun set in
the most blinding of hues -
I could see
right down to the bend in the river.
The breeze picked up and
sent my spine into a shiver.
I stayed long enough to forget myself,
enough time pased that I become just another animal.
Humans tend to forget that we are mammals,
we like to think that we are so special.
Our destination is the same but we try
desperately to reframe ourselves,
to separate ourselves, from the discomfort of death and uncertainty...
we are no better or worse than an ant, a bear or a galah,
We are just like them, one tiny spark of
Temporarily manifested eternity.

Man... Poor polar bears.
I saw two polar bears behind glass in a man made iceberg "fridge"... It was about the size of two Olympic swimming pools.
Bleeping heck, it was depressing sight for my teenage self to witness.

Fury
- February, fires and fatigue 2020 -
----------------------------------------------------------
Remember me in the flames of fury -
the billowing smoke of lives forsaken.
Remember me in the flames of fury -
feel pity for the lives which were taken!
Remember me in those flames of fury -
do not forget my anger during the
deep comfort of winter.
Remember me in the flames of fury -
may my pain splinter your
hardened hearts.
As winter starts, prepare me - so
that the flames of fury do not declare me
to the violent yet dispensible suffering!
Remember me in those flames of fury -
for otherwise, i will declare you ready
for my purifying summer ceremony.
